Maurice Bergin

Maurice Bergin is a Graduate of the Shannon College of Hotel Management, conducted Post Graduate studies at Cornell University in the USA and completed a Masters Degree in Hospitality Management in 2001. With over 35 years’ experience in the Tourism and Hospitality sector he has worked in, and managed, hotels across Ireland and in the UK, Switzerland and South Africa before setting up his own consulting and businesses.

Since 2000 he has operated and run Hospitality Solutions Consulting which now specialises in the promotion of Responsible and Sustainable Tourism across Ireland. He is recognised as one of the leading experts in the hospitality sector in this area in Ireland. He was instrumental in developing the Green Hospitality Programme, which is Ireland’s foremost hospitality environmental certification programme and which has achieved International recognition. Alongside this he operates www.GreenTravel.ie which is a consumer website promoting responsible travel and tourism in Ireland.
