About the speaker

WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme – UK) works in a distinctive way – developing evidence where there is a knowledge gap, bringing together the right people to work on specific issues and develop solutions, and then, finding ways to implement them. They focus on the most resource intensive sectors where they have technical expertise and a track record of strong delivery: food & drink, manufactured products (electricals & textiles) and waste & resource management. WRAP work at all points around the resource ‘loop’ –product design, preventing and minimising waste, re-using products, and recycling and composting. WRAP works with UK Governments, the EU and other funders to help deliver their policies on waste prevention and resource efficiency.

Linda Crichton is responsible for WRAP’s waste and resource management programme. This covers WRAP’s work on re-use and recycling including collection, material quality and processing, and end markets as well as the consumer behaviour change campaign Recycle Now.

Linda joined WRAP in 2004 to set up and manage WRAP’s support programme for UK local authorities and prior to that worked for one of the UK’s leading environmental consultancies on strategic and policy studies relating to waste and the environment working both in the UK and internationally.
