“Let’s Do It Mediterranean!” is an innovative international project that aims to clean up the Mediterranean Sea on 13th-15th of September 2013, actively involving one million people from all the 22 countries in the region in a unique joint event.
Its main objectives are to identify the most prolific sources of waste in the Mediterranean, to develop and implement a common logistic plan in order to eliminate and remove floating debris from water surface and trash from the shallow seabed protecting in the same time the sea life, to support and conduct research and development offering practical and creative solutions in form of new equipments and inventions to ease the cleanup process and to minimize pollution’s negative effects on the sea, to create an international campaign to practically educate and act as an example bringing together people, nations and two continents.
We would like to invite you to join forces and help us develop this very bold and innovative effort by assuming the leadership in your own country. We need reliable partners to manage and implement the project, who would act inside an international environmental network that is aiming to cooperate as a united group supporting each other continuously. We will offer full international support, assisting you in all phases of the project implementation by constant communication and trainings, by providing all the guides and documents necessary to sustain an organized structure, its planning and management.
We need your help in order to activate and mobilize all the major international and national organizations, groups and companies around the Mediterranean region that might operate in your country as well as your national institutions such as: the Government, various Ministries, local authorities, public administrations, communal service and waste or recycling companies. We need foundations, NGOs, associations, schools and universities in order to touch, include and empower all the citizens into taking action, from the youngest to the oldest.
This project will provide you an ideal opportunity to discover, debate and react to the environmental issues in your country and offer reliable solutions and massive direct involvement as well as the chance to be a part of the significant change that we are going to bring to the whole Mediterranean region.
