PR and marketing talents wanted for Let’s Do It! Mediterranean project

Despite linking 21 countries and attracting a third of the world’s annual tourism, the problems of pollution and overfishing in the Mediterranean Sea have remained largely overlooked (Daily Star).

But this is not a status quo! Let’s Do It! has moved from land to water and is now scouting for talanted and motivated Public Relations & Marketing people to help to reach one million volunteers for Let’s Do It! Mediterranean cleanup action taking place on the 10th and 11th of May 2014 in more than 20 Mediterranean countries located in three continents!

We’re looking for capable (with experience) social media, media relations, marketing and other PR people to help to organise a historic civic cooperation project. Something like this has never been done before and you can become an innovator of civic/environmental community!

This is a very unique project not only because of ambitious goals, but also because of political, social and environmental impact this action will create. Mediterranean countries are located in three continents, with different religious, cultural, political and religious background. Not always have there been good relations between the countries in this region. This cooperation and will is what makes Let’s Do It! Mediterranean so special and amazing!

The international team of volunteers is missing skilled PR & Marketing people that would find challenging to:

1) interact with international media
2) create international campaigns
3) find and work with private and civic society partners
4) test your creativity and
5) start viral campaignsWe are looking for:1) Web site content editor with good writing skills in English
Taks: to keep the web page of Let’s Do It! Mediterranean fresh, updated and logical and to create and edit news2) Media monitoring specialist
Tasks: To create a list of valuable media channels and contacts, search and collect media coverage, analyze the media coverage of Let’s Do It! Mediterranean project3) Two press officers
Tasks: to write press releases and other media texts (it’s perfect if you can do it in some other language additionally to English), arrange interviews, communicate with journalists, collect news value from teams of Let’s Do It! Mediterranean teams from different countries

4) Two marketing & campaigning specialists
Tasks: to create cooperation with corpprate partners in order to spread the idea of Let’s Do It! Mediterranean (not fundraising), to create ideas for campaigns, find pro bono marketing and PR agencies to work together with, arrange advertisement materials, free advertising space (in various media types from radio and TV to print media), etc.

5) Skilled designers and video makers
Tasks: to create advertisement materials (banners, posters, flyers, social media designs, etc) and to help Let’s Do It! Mediterranean to go viral in Europe – or even in all over the world.

6) Facebook and social media content manager
Tasks: Interact on behalf of Let’s Do It! Mediterranean in the project’s social media channels. Develop the channels, make them more fun, straight to the point and keep them lively.
