News from Anna Lindh forum and parliamentary assembly of Mediterranean Parliaments
There are many positive news and more ways to be included to the process!
Robert Hall visited Anna Lindh forum in Marseille,
he found more partners to Anna Lindh foundation (ALf) project. Project proposal with 12 partnering NGO’s was sent to ALf on Monday. Let’s keep fingers crossed to get their financial support! Big thanks to Robert and Agni who carried out most of the organizing of the writing of the project and to all contact people of participating NGO’s. ALf project is just a part of LDIM funding, so if you didn’t participate there you can still take part of all the different events (you just won’t get funding from ALf).
Rainer Nõlvak visited UfM meeting
1. Help us to fund the kick-off meeting of organizing team, asap. Plus some travels. It was suggested that Malta government might take that role+others will help funding. Stefan Schennach, MP from Austria is pursuing this further.
2. mayors were asked to help us with organizing boat tour in autumn throughout the Mediterranean, to introduce Let’s Do It Mediterranean to people (Hema’s idea).
3. Parliamentarians liked the date (10. May 2014)!
Quoting Rainer: “As they said, we’re out of starting blocks now. Let’s Do It Mediterranean will happen in 2014. Now, whether it will be a bureaucratic statement or real Cleanup in our spirit is up to us.”
Many of you might have heard the news about Boyan Slat
We are still looking for people
who could help to organize
+communication with partners (keeping contacts with different NGO’s and municipalities, sharing information)
+communication on political level (like an advisor of some sort)
+managing blog (doing some PR work, sharing news)
+Translator (somebody who is fluently bilingual in English and French or English and Arabic, to translate news and other information)
+whatever novel ideas you have to offer! A big thing is going to happen, we need everyone’s effort even in small things! You can write me to share your vision or your potential role in Let’s Do It Mediterranean, I will definitely connect you with right people!
(Contact: helene.urva@letsdoitworld.org to join in!)
